Position Description & Qualifications Serco-North America is seeking a highly motivated Deputy Project Manager with extensive experience in high-level defense programs and Modeling and Simulation. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in operations and training, a proactive mindset, is able to manage/operate in a strong team atmosphere, possesses the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, schedule‑driven environment, and capable of working effectively with multiple distributed teams across multiple time zones and nationalities. You will provide operational insight and managerial assistance to spearhead major projects and prioritize customer contract requirements appropriately from inception through completion. You will be responsible for numerous aspects of the program including cost, schedule, and technical performance of the program, and interfacing as the deputy lead with internal and external customers, vendors, and company support organizations. You will be required to manage and coordinate technical and administrative staff by assigning, scheduling, prioritizing, coordinating, and facilitating multiple tasks, analyzing alternatives and providing strategic vision and mentorship to the broader team. You will assist documenting developmental processes in support of multiple Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) programs for the USAF as well as International Partners and Allies from the organization’s Orlando, FL. office (remote work will also be considered). In this role, you will: Provide technical and managerial assistance on all aspects of project management Evaluate performance of subcontractors and staff in terms of actual and planned task schedules and resource requirements Compose memoranda, reports, and other documentation highlighting project steps and status for regular meetings with customer Advise Senior Leadership on strategic vision and solutions Attend meetings and make presentations about project status and work commitments Ensure training of all staff members and instruct them on customer’s methods, procedures, and standards Evaluate, develop and/or implement procedures regarding project documentation and development Participate in the planning and design of new projects as directed Responsible for acquiring follow‑on business associated with assigned projects and for supporting new business development by leading relatively small proposals or assisting with major proposals Work with minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment To be successful in this role, you will have: Active U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance. A Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of related experience OR a Master’s degree with 5 years of related experience Ability to quickly adapt and work on multiple programs concurrently Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks effectively Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time (CONUS and OCONUS) Must have a valid US Passport with the expectation to travel internationally Experience writing and negotiating small and medium‑sized contracts and other similar agreements (If Remote) Self‑motivated, disciplined, and capable of independent work with limited direct supervision Additional desired experience and skills: Bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English is highly preferred. Ability to communicate with international stakeholders or local non‑English speaking communities is a strong asset This position is contingent upon the ability to maintain/transfer a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
