Catering & Event Logistics Specialist Seasonal

The Catering & Event Logistics Specialist Seasonal team members will assist the Director of Culinary Planning & Catering with the successful planning and execution of catered meetings, events and conferences for Answers in Genesis at the Ark Encounter, Creation Museum and the AiG Headquarters building. Responsibilities

• Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis.
• Create a SERVE culture environment in all work done.
• Approach all tasks with a second mile mindset.
• Prioritize personal integrity in all interactions and assignments.
• Deliver exceptional catering and hospitality to all event guests, day guests, VIPs and staff of Answers in Genesis, the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum.
• Set up catering spaces and serving stations with linens, food, beverages and supplies needed for the events of the day. Install and maintain food & beverage signage.
• Prepare and cook food in accordance with menu and recipe standards.
• Prepare, store and serve food quickly and safely in accordance with NKY Health Department Standards and National Serve Safe Program.
• Give utmost attention to food presentation to ensure a high-quality guest experience while maintaining safety and hygienic operations of the cooking and serving areas.
• Serve, rotate and replenish buffet menu items, appetizers and dessert tables and beverage stations.
• Maintain cleanliness of food and beverage service areas, serving utensils and equipment.
• Clean and reset tables, chairs and floors throughout event dining area.
• Clean and sanitize work areas at the end of each event, leaving kitchen supplies in clean working order.
• Maintain and service the Answers Center Green Room kitchen food and beverage offerings.
• Plan and carry out the rotation of date sensitive inventory and regular cleaning schedules.
• Assist when requested in the operations of Culinary Services department during non-event times.
• And all other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.

Requirements

• Able to work a flexible schedule across a 7-day week at either the Answers Center or the Creation Museum; able to work mornings, evenings and weekends as needed.

• Customer service-oriented and committed to high levels of guest satisfaction.
• Good problem-solving skills, organizational skills and decision-making ability.
• Able to estimate and meet realistic deadlines, perform under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities.
• Strong attention to detail with eyes on food standards and the ability to anticipate guest needs.
• Must be able to stand and move about the kitchen, storage rooms and/or meeting rooms for the entire length of shift.
• Must be able to bend and list 25-75 pounds.

Education & Experience

• Knowledge of principles of food preparation and presentation.
• Any combination of education or job-related experience that provides the required knowledge & abilities to perform the required tasks.
