Ophthalmic Technician/Scribe

Job Description Job Description We are seeking a skilled and motivated Ophthalmic Technician/Scribe to support our ophthalmologists and optometrists in delivering exceptional patient care. Key Responsibilities * Gather details and chief complaint * Conduct preliminary eye exams, including visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and basic refraction. * Perform diagnostic tests such as OCT and visual field testing. * Administer eye medications under provider direction. * Assist with minor surgical procedures and laser treatments. * Accurately document patient data in electronic health records (EHR). * Educate patients on eye care and medication usage. * Work closely with the clinical team to ensure efficient patient flow. * Enter details alongside of MD into EHR Qualifications * Preferred : Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT). * Experience : At least 1 year in an ophthalmic setting is highly desirable. * Proficiency in diagnostic testing and ophthalmic equipment. * Knowledge of ocular anatomy, common eye diseases, and treatment protocols. * Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. * Willingness to train motivated candidates with a long-term commitment preferred. Requirements * High school diploma or equivalent (required). * Completion of an accredited ophthalmic technician program or a college degree is strongly desired. * Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment. * Flexible and adaptive to evolving clinic needs. * Reliable transportation to commute to Glenview, IL 60026.
