Quality Assurance & Testing Analyst (OMS Upgrade Project)

Position Summary

The Quality Assurance & Testing Analyst will be responsible for leading and executing all quality assurance and testing activities associated with the OMS Upgrade Project. This role works closely with project teams, operational stakeholders, business analysts, developers, and product owners to ensure the upgraded OMS platform meets business, functional, and technical requirements while maintaining the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with large-scale ADMS/OMS environments, preferably GEV ADMS v3.11 or higher, and demonstrate strong expertise in test planning, test execution, defect management, and stakeholder collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Test Planning

  • Collaborate with development teams, business analysts, project stakeholders, and product owners to understand business requirements and testing needs.
  • Review business requirements, functional specifications, and design documents to identify test requirements and coverage.
  • Record questions and clarifications in designated tracking tools and ensure all issues are resolved before testing activities begin.
  • Define testing scope, assumptions, risks, dependencies, and out-of-scope items.
  • Support the Test Lead in developing comprehensive test strategies and test plans.

Test Design & Preparation

  • Develop detailed test scenarios, test scripts, test stories, and test cases covering all business and technical requirements.
  • Prepare and validate test data to ensure completeness, accuracy, and availability.
  • Create and maintain Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTMs) to ensure full requirement coverage and validation.
  • Upload and maintain test cases within the designated test management tool.

Test Execution & Defect Management

  • Execute functional, integration, system, and regression testing activities.
  • Validate application functionality against documented requirements and expected outcomes.
  • Conduct regression testing to ensure defect fixes and enhancements do not negatively impact existing functionality.
  • Document test execution results, including screenshots with timestamps, while ensuring all Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is masked.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and report defects with detailed reproduction steps, supporting evidence, test data, and screenshots.
  • Retest resolved defects and execute impacted test scenarios to verify successful remediation.

Reporting & Monitoring

  • Monitor testing progress and maintain testing dashboards within the test management platform.
  • Track application outages and testing interruptions using downtime tracking tools.
  • Report testing status, defects, risks, blockers, and quality metrics to the Test Lead and Project Manager.
  • Proactively identify and communicate project risks that may impact testing timelines, coverage, or project delivery.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure testing activities align with project objectives and operational requirements.
  • Participate in project meetings, defect triage sessions, and testing reviews.
  • Provide clear and effective communication regarding testing outcomes, risks, and recommendations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and Testing within large-scale ADMS/OMS environments.
  • Hands-on experience with GE Vernova (GEV) ADMS v3.11 or higher preferred.
  • Proven experience developing and executing test strategies, test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
  • Experience creating and maintaining Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTMs).
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, defect lifecycle management, and quality assurance best practices.
  • Experience using test management and defect tracking tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and stakeholder communication skills.
