Certified Nursing Assistant, Float Pool-2nd Shift

Provides patient care in a hospital setting under the supervision of nursing staff. Assists with daily care needs, supports a safe and clean environment, and helps deliver quality patient care in alignment with nursing standards. May work flexible shifts, including weekends, holidays, nights, and on-call hours. Performs additional assigned duties as needed.

Schedule : 2nd Shift / 20 hours per week

Shifts: 12 hr. shifts it is 11a-2330por 8 hr. shifts is 1500p-2330p

Location: Javon Bea Hospital - Riverside

Pay Range: $17.57- $25.48

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides patient care as assigned and per routine as defined by educational scope, according to standards of care, shift routines, and policies and procedures.

• Answers call lights in a timely and appropriate manner.

• Documents care provided according to standards.

• Maintains a clean work and patient environment.

• Maintains supplies, including scanning, stocking and ordering new supplies and disposing of expired or damaged supplies.

• Floats to various units based on identified patient care needs.

• Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities.

• Training/precepting new partners in collaboration with unit educator

• Blood Glucose Monitoring (BGM) with lab personnel

• Bladder scanning procedure reviewed

• Bladder scanner training complete (check off sheet for competency)

• Attaching patient to remote telemetry or bedside cardiac monitor

• Managing and reporting collection devices:

• Colostomy, ileostomy or other fecal management systems: care and output measures

• Indwelling catheters: care and output measures

• Nasogastric tubes to suction

• Surgical drains under direction of supervising RN

• Competent in completing vital signs: Manual process for blood pressure and required reporting of abnormal values to supervising RN

• Discontinue invasive devices under the direction of the supervising RN:

• Indwelling (Foley) catheters

• Nasogastric tubes

• Peripherally inserted intravenous catheters

• Similar devices as appropriate

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Completion of a CNA program.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE

Current CNA certificate in applicable state.

Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days.
