Medical AssistantThe Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to physicians and healthcare providers. This role requires flexibility, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt quickly to different clinical environments while delivering high-quality patient care.ResponsibilitiesRoom patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during procedures.Administer medications and injections as directed and within scope of practice.Perform EKGs, specimen collection, wound care, and other clinical procedures as assigned.Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).Schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, and obtain insurance authorizations.Educate patients on medications, treatments, and follow-up care.Clean and stock exam rooms and maintain infection control standards.Float between multiple specialty departments based on staffing needs.Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure quality patient care.QualificationsMedical Assistant Diploma or Certification, required.Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification, highly preferred.Two years of Medical Assistant experience, highly preferred.Oncology knowledge, preferred.Experience in a specialty clinic or outpatient setting, preferred.Knowledge of EMR systems and medical terminology.Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and adapt to changing assignments.Location: cCARE Fresno7130 N Millbrook Ave.Fresno, CA 93720Anticipated hourly range: $23.00 per hour - $28.93 per hourBenefits: Cardinal Health offers a wide variety of benefits and programs to support health and well-being.Medical, dental and vision coveragePaid time off planHealth savings account (HSA)401k savings planAccess to wages before pay day with myFlexPayFlexible spending accounts (FSAs)Short- and long-term disability coverageWork-Life resourcesPaid parental leaveHealthy lifestyle programsApplication window anticipated to close: 11/13/2026 *if interested in opportunity, please submit application as soon as possible.The hourly range listed is an estimate.
