Medical Lab Technologist- Microbiology PRN

PRN clinical lab technologist position in microbiology at a hospital laboratory in Nashville. The role involves performing routine and complex testing procedures, operating instrumentation, and maintaining quality control in a high-volume production environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess specimen acceptability and perform routine and complex technical procedures per protocol
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation for proper function
• Prepare and evaluate reagents, controls, and conduct preventive maintenance and quality control
• Report accurate timely test results and maintain safe work environment with appropriate PPE
• Process specimens and replenish testing supplies as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in chemical/biological science, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology
• Minimum 1 year clinical laboratory testing experience OR MLS degree
• Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
• Proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred
• 1+ year clinical microbiology or plate reading experience preferred
