Accounts Specialist - Credit Balance Analyst

Summary: This role involves analyzing all credit balances prior to refund or adjudication processing. The specialist reviews accounts for posting errors and supports Medicaid/Medicare Quarterly Credit Balance Reports across multiple entities. Compliance with CMS and healthcare regulations is essential. The position may also assist with annual Escheatment Report preparation, ensuring adherence to state escheatment processes.

Responsibilities: Perform detailed account analysis requiring critical thinking to identify necessary corrections. Maintain knowledge of insurance and coordination of benefits within healthcare. Provide excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills. Manage multiple priorities in a sometimes high-pressure environment. Utilize strong computer, typing, and ten-key skills while adhering to HIPAA guidelines.

Education and Experience: Minimum of two years clerical experience, preferably in a hospital business office or accounting department. Demonstrated numerical ability for verifying accuracy and clerical perception to detect posting errors.

Requirements: Ability to pass Windows aptitude and 10-key calculator tests. Near visual acuity for reading records and fast, accurate data entry. Good oral and written communication skills. Motor coordination and finger dexterity are necessary.
