Position Title Student Employee, Theatre-1 Job Description POSITION TITLE: Fine Arts Theatre Student Employee DEPARTMENT: Fine Arts DIVISION: Academic Affairs REPORTS TO: Technical Supervisor, Theatre CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt MINIMUM PAY RATE: $15.00 per hour (Position is FWS Eligible) ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Assisting in execution of designs for JJC Theatre Productions Assisting in the management of JJC musical events (concerts, recitals, etc.) Assisting in front of house operations for all productions and concerts (ticketing, ushering, general support) Supervising volunteers in various theatre shops (scenic, costumes, props, lighting) Office duties (filing, computer, photocopying, etc.) Assist Fine Arts Secretary as needed. Perform related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 2.5 GPA or higher and in good standing with JJC Enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at JJC Practical experience in the use of hand and power tools Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills Accuracy in tabulations of money Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence. HOURS: Flexibility in hours and the ability to work evenings and weekends PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Previous theatrical work Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment Students planning to continue work in theatre encouraged to apply English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency. WORK HOURS Scheduled Weekly Hours: This is a student employee position that works around your class schedule. May work up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters.
