Materials Operations Manager

A Materials Production Manager will oversee material planning, warehouse operations, inventory control, and material flow across assigned production shifts. Where Is The Work On‑Site (5 days per week) What’s In It For You The Materials Production Manager is responsible for planning receiving, inventory control, material flow, and ensuring accurate perpetual records. The role includes preparing schedules for receiving materials, controlling warehouse space, maintaining material inventory accuracy, and leading cycle counting routines to achieve cycle count certification. What You Will Do Recommend improvements to reduce costs and drive productivity within the department while achieving site-specific goals. Ensure timely unloading, receiving, storage and delivery of material to the production areas. Maintain inventory and product loss control, coordinate timely and accurate shipping and receiving, and ensure safety/operational guidelines are met. Maintain cycle count standard work goals with the long-term objective of achieving cycle count certification. Maintain and issue inventory reporting, including inventory accuracy, cycle count metrics and scrap processing. Implement and enforce standard work across the functions. Drive continuous improvement activities in all functional areas. Provide leadership in selecting, developing and evaluating personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Organize activities & assign jobs according to staff requirements. Work with plant management and supervisory staff to assign, direct, review and monitor the work of supervised staff to maximize productivity in the warehouse. Motivate staff to create an effective and efficient team. Engage in typical managerial responsibilities requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating and delegating. Lead material replenishment and picking activities for the factory, ensuring delivery of parts to production lines follows standard work instructions. Work with engineering teams to design and deploy replenishment methods in the factory (e.g., Kanban, sequencing). Perform other duties as assigned. What You Will Bring Bachelor’s degree. A minimum of 3–5 years of experience in integrated manufacturing functions. Experience with rate-based or flow line and job shop manufacturing environments. Experience in operations, inventory management, MRP and lean manufacturing processes. Experience with visual management systems. Experience operating warehouse equipment and any necessary certifications. Familiarity with Microsoft Office products and other inventory control/shipping software. The compensation range is generally based on the national average for the country, and benefits may vary by region, business alignment, union involvement, and employee status.
