A leading Level I trauma hospital in Pennsylvania is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Urologist for short-term 24-hour call coverage assignments.

Assignment Overview

This role provides 24-hour urology call coverage at a busy Level I trauma hospital.

Coverage Dates

• July 13–17 (or through July 20)
• September 21 (7:00 AM) – September 27 (7:00 AM)

Schedule Type

• 24-hour beeper call
• Average callback: 2–6 hours/day
• Mix of inpatient consults, OR coverage, and emergency procedures

Clinical Environment

• Level I Trauma Center
• 16 operating rooms (York Hospital + Apple Hill Surgery Center)
• EPIC EMR
• Adult patient population (18+)
• Rare pediatric emergencies (e.g., torsion cases)

Scope of Practice

This is a full-spectrum urology call role , including both emergent and elective procedures.

Core Procedures

• Vasectomy / Vasectomy reversal
• Cystoscopy (OR-based)
• Prostate procedures
• Ureteroscopy
• Lithotripsy
• Orchiopexy
• Penile procedures (including implants in rare cases)
• Circumcision (rare, OB primarily manages pediatric cases)

Surgical Capability

• Robotic surgery available (if within provider skillset)
• Support for APP supervision (including onboarding new APPs)

Support Staff

• 4 Medical Assistants
• 1 RN
• 1 CSA (Clinic Support Associate)
• Office and surgical scheduling support

Practice Details

• High-acuity urology service
• Mix of inpatient consults, OR cases, and clinic-based procedures
• Approximately 24–28 patient encounters/day when clinic activity is included
• Flexible workload depending on urgent hospital needs

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Urology
• Active Pennsylvania license preferred (IMLC LOQ accepted for faster start)
• DEA required
• Minimum 1 year of experience preferred
• Strong communication and emergency urology skills

Additional Notes

• New graduates will be considered
• Must be comfortable with independent call coverage in a trauma setting
• Clean credentialing file required for expedited privileges
