Job Description

Responsibilities include managing quality control operations staff as assigned, providing support with rebuttal submissions, training and serving as a subject matter expert on the team, ensuring that QA/QC projects are efficiently and accurately completed in compliance with agency guidelines and internal Policy and Procedures, while acting as a day-to-day contact for external clients.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Manage assigned team members.
  • Perform random reviews of work completed by the team (others as needed).
  • Develop training opportunities to further expand and enhance the team's knowledge and practice experience.
  • Identify and assign necessary training.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for other team members as needed.
  • Complete annual performance reviews.
  • Adhere to all personnel policies as directed by Human Resources as an individual contributor and manager.
  • Identify and communicate rebuttal trends based on client feedback and recommend corrective action.
  • Maintains day to day contact with clients.
  • Manage the process of rebuttals and sample selections in accordance with expected SLAs.
  • Conducts client calibration calls and relay necessary updates to audit staff.
  • Develop and manage Client Implementation process.
  • Manage the Appraisal Quality Control process and associated vendor relationships.
  • Communicate with all levels of management to provide insight into the team's performance, goals and improvement metrics.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact from the Operations management team to identify and resolve QC system issues.
  • Coordinate with Quality Control Risk Manager to ensure internal Policy and Procedures are being followed.
  • Performs other duties as available by the Quality Control Risk Manager.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications

Education and/or experience:

  • Two – Five years mortgage underwriting/audit experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, or related field; or equivalent work experience.

Skills and competencies:

  • Knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and VA lending requirements and lending compliance.
  • Analytical ability to develop reports and supporting documentation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-directed and able to adjust tasks as needed by the business.
  • Sound decision and judgment making skills.
  • Knowledge of lending compliance such as TRID and current regulatory mandates is expected.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common mortgage and financial documentation.
  • Ability to effectively document and explain specific mortgage loan defects in a concise but thorough manner.
  • Use of proper grammar and spelling is a must
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as calculating complex income scenarios, liabilities and overall ratios for any given loan.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to assess credit eligibility criteria as required for agency underwriting approval.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to perform self-directed research using agency guidelines, regulatory policies and state level compliance guidelines.
Working Conditions
  • Traditional office environment with low-to-moderate office noise (computers, phones and business conversations). The position may be remote from main offices.
  • May require occasional travel.
  • May require flexibility in hours.
