Systems Engineer - Controls Fleet

Salary: $180,000 - 225,000 per year Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
• Hands-on experience with Linux
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and networking protocols such as and DNS
• 5+ years of experience building scripts, tooling, and automation for large-scale computing environments
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems, or background in technical support, along with experience with virtualization technologies such as hypervisors, VMware, or Xen
• 5+ years of experience deploying, managing, and supporting large Windows Server environments of 500+ servers, including OS lifecycle management, patch compliance, and standardization across geographically distributed data center infrastructure
• Expert-level understanding of Windows technologies such as Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, Hyper-V, Windows Failover Clustering, and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (ECM) or AWS Systems Manager
• Proficiency in PowerShell or a comparable scripting language, plus Windows automation experience
• Strong grounding in networking principles and hands-on hardware troubleshooting and system building experience
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly in a global operations environment
• Willingness to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation supporting global customers
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time
• Preferred: experience designing scripts to automate operational work and reviewing scripting changes for maintainability, scalability, and security
• Preferred: experience working in a 24/7 production environment
• Preferred: experience using AWS services
• Preferred: 5+ years of virtualization experience with hypervisors, VMware, or Xen, including support for underlying hardware components
• Preferred: experience managing a large-scale Windows Server fleet across geographically distributed environments using enterprise configuration management and automation tooling such as ECM, AWS Systems Manager, or similar platforms

• Design, build, and support large-scale Windows Server environments
• Deploy and manage enterprise tooling such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (ECM) or AWS Systems Manager for a large Windows fleet
• Develop automation and scripting best practices for large server environments, with a strong focus on PowerShell
• Apply creativity and analytical thinking to solve complex problems and deliver innovative solutions
• Adjust quickly to changing priorities while handling multiple tasks efficiently
• Diagnose and resolve hardware issues, including hands-on system building
• Perform expert-level Windows administration and apply strong networking knowledge
• Create scripts and automation workflows for a global server fleet
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation supporting customers worldwide
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed, up to 10%
