Inpatient Psychiatrist

The Department of Psychiatry at Dartmouth-Hitchcock is seeking an Inpatient Psychiatrist to join its faculty at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center located in beautiful northern New England.

In this role, you will lead one of 3 interdisciplinary teams caring for voluntary and involuntary patients on our adult psychiatry 24-bed unit. The inpatient unit includes an experienced team of social workers, therapists, nurses, psychiatrists, and medical providers who deliver high-quality care. You will supervise psychiatry residents and medical students on a daily basis as a major component of this role with additional availability for teaching in didactic or other supervisory settings in the psychiatry residency or other training programs at Dartmouth. Additional opportunities exist to engage in research, quality improvement or outpatient longitudinal care depending on individual interests. Of note, the unit anticipates offering SAINT TMS to inpatients in the near future, and is in the process of building out a program for the diagnosis and treatment of individuals with neuroimmune disorders resulting in psychiatric presentations. These will provide exciting opportunities to engage in program development, research and clinical care/teaching.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled clinician and enthusiastic teacher, with strong interest and experience in Psychiatry. Candidates should be board certified (or eligible) in Psychiatry. Academic rank at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and salary will be commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Advanced clinical degree (MD or DO)

• Post graduate training in residency program

Required Licensure/Certifications

• Current New Hampshire Medical License

• Current or eligible for ABMS Board Certification (to be obtained within 5 years)

• Active hospital staff membership
