LOGISTICS SUPERVISOR

Schedule:1st Shift; Monday-Friday 6AM-2:30PM2nd Shift: Monday-Friday 3PM-11:30PMThis position is responsible for directing and coordinating assigned logistics operations supporting the Dallas / Grand Prairie Distribution Center. Responsibilities may include material handling, receiving, warehousing, inventory movement, order picking, packing, shipping, equipment usage, and other distribution support activities based on operational need.This position serves as a front-line leadership role responsible for ensuring assigned personnel complete work safely, accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies, customer requirements, and operational expectations. The Logistics Supervisor may be assigned to support either material handling or distribution functions due to the similarity of leadership, workflow management, safety, quality, and productivity requirements across these areas. The position is responsible for personnel development, operational execution, performance management, process compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve safety, service, quality, productivity, and overall department performance.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Department LeadershipSupervise assigned logistics personnel including workload assignment, training, coaching, performance management, and employee development.Communicate job expectations and ensure team members understand daily priorities, productivity expectations, safety requirements, and quality standards.Manage daily staffing, workload balancing, and priority alignment to support operational requirements.Monitor employee performance and address performance, conduct, attendance, safety, and quality issues in accordance with company policies and procedures.Support employee development, cross-training, and succession planning within the assigned department.Inventory, Equipment & Facility ControlSupport inventory accuracy by ensuring proper product handling, physical counts, reconciliation, documentation, and compliance with established inventory processes.Maintain the integrity and accuracy of inventory, shipments, and operational processes within the assigned function.Ensure equipment, tools, handheld devices, forklifts, and other operational assets are properly used, maintained, and reported when repair or replacement is needed.Maintain facility, product, and equipment integrity through housekeeping, security awareness, proper inventory and supply storage, and protection of company assets.Ensure assigned areas are organized, clean, safe, and ready to support daily operations.Process Management & Continuous ImprovementMonitor operational performance and identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, throughput, service levels, and labor efficiency.Develop and support implementation of process improvements, work instructions, training practices, and operating procedures.Maintain accurate operational, inventory, shipment, equipment, and personnel documentation for reporting and compliance purposes.Interface with support departments to ensure schedules, priorities, documentation, and expectations are met.Support special projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.Other Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist with internal and external customer support requirements as needed.Support workload changes, schedule changes, and business priorities as required.Maintain a positive and professional image when working with employees, customers, suppliers, and support departments.Additional projects or assignments may be identified from time to time.Experience, Skills & Education:Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.Experience in logistics, material handling, warehousing, distribution, shipping, or a related operational environment preferred.Understanding of general warehouse work practices, safety expectations, and distribution center operations.Knowledge of material handling, receiving, inventory movement, order picking, packing, shipping, and product flow processes.Understanding of basic efficiency, productivity, throughput, quality, labor, and service level measures.Ability to supervise, coach, counsel, train, and develop employees.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced distribution environment.Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Ability to investigate operational issues and implement effective corrective actions.Ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, suppliers, and internal departments.Experience using K&N Business Management System, handheld devices, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and related operational systems preferred.Must be able to adjust schedule and hours as needed to support operational requirements.Must possess a strong attendance record.We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity in our company.
