Overview

We are seeking a dependable and professional Convenience Store Manager / Shift Lead on a contract basis to oversee store operations, manage shifts, and run our fresh food program. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, hands-on cooking experience, and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment.

Hours & Compensation

• Expected workload: 190–200 hours per month
• Compensation: Based on experience
• Schedule: Flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Key Responsibilities

Shift Handling & Store Operations

• Manage assigned shifts, including opening and closing duties
• Oversee daily operations during shift hours
• Handle cash control, register oversight, and shift reporting
• Ensure store cleanliness, organization, and safety standards
• Maintain stocked shelves and product availability

Fresh Food Preparation & Kitchen Management

• Prepare fresh, made-to-order foods such as burgers, tacos, sandwiches, omelets, and breakfast items
• Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and temperature guidelines
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and equipment
• Monitor food inventory and prep levels

Staff & Customer Service

• Supervise on-shift employees
• Provide leadership and direction to team members
• Deliver fast, friendly, professional customer service
• Resolve customer concerns appropriately

Compliance & Professional Standards

• Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times
• Clean background and reliable work history required
• Follow health department regulations and store policies
• Enforce ID checks for age-restricted sales
• Maintain a safe and respectful workplace

Contractor Qualifications

• Experience leading shifts in retail, restaurant, or convenience store environments
• Strong cooking experience with fresh, made-to-order foods
• Reliable, punctual, and highly organized
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Commitment to professionalism and cleanliness

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Lift up to 40 lbs
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
