RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop, implement, and evaluate grant programs and specialty service lines, with a primary focus on Market One’s housing development program. Lead strategic grant development, ensure compliance oversight, and administer community development initiatives. Facilitate and lead community meetings to drive successful development projects. Manage projects with strategic vision, strong communication, and project‑management skills. Exercise professional judgment, analyze problems, recommend solutions, and lead projects independently. Build strong relationships with funders at the state, regional, and federal levels to secure funding for Cass and Van Buren counties. Develop and monitor budgets, project plans, and resource allocation for grant programs. Meet with state and federal department officials to build understanding of programming and advocate for projects. Represent Market One to external constituency groups, including community, governmental, and private organizations. Act as the primary regional catalyst for community development by connecting partners with diverse funding opportunities. Lead, plan, organize, and operate initiatives that align with Market One’s mission. Oversee program execution, report compliance, and ensure services meet applicable regulations and laws. Provide technical support for partners’ pursuit of grant funds, including writing, reviewing, and advising on applications. Collaborate with finance and compliance teams to ensure budgetary alignment of active programs and projects. Carry out all other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit management, community development, planning, political science, public administration, or equivalent knowledge/experience. At least 2 years of experience in nonprofit administration, grant writing and administration, project management, public administration, or economic development. Demonstrated strong writing skills. Ability to understand basic financial reports, including balance sheets and activity reports. Willingness to travel regularly throughout Cass and Van Buren counties. Excellent communication, organization, attention to detail, and independent judgment. Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, team environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Google Hangouts, Zoom).

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

Five years of related experience in nonprofit administration, grant writing or grant administration, project management, public administration, or economic development. Experience managing highly sensitive and confidential situations. Experience working with executive teams or local units of government.
