Facilities Maintenance Technician (Service Technician)
Oxford Heights is seeking a dependable and motivated Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our growing maintenance team. In this role, you'll help maintain apartment homes, common areas, and community grounds while ensuring residents enjoy a safe, clean, and well-maintained living environment. We provide ongoing training, advancement opportunities, and support for developing skills in HVAC, electrical, and other skilled trades.
Apartment Turnovers & Repairs
- Prepare apartment homes for new residents by completing repairs, touch-ups, and general improvements.
- Perform routine maintenance and help ensure units meet move-in standards.
- Assist with remodeling and property improvement projects.
Drywall, Painting & Carpentry
- Repair, patch, finish, and prepare drywall surfaces.
- Complete interior and exterior painting projects.
- Perform light carpentry including trim work, minor framing, door repairs, and general building repairs.
General Maintenance
- Repair and replace basic fixtures, hardware, locks, lighting, and appliances.
- Troubleshoot and address everyday maintenance issues throughout the property.
- Assist with preventive maintenance activities.
Grounds & Community Upkeep
- Maintain common areas and exterior grounds.
- Assist with landscaping, debris removal, snow removal, and seasonal property needs.
- Support janitorial and cleanliness initiatives throughout the community.
Resident Service
- Respond to maintenance requests professionally and efficiently.
- Deliver excellent customer service while interacting with residents.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to address urgent maintenance concerns.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in apartment maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, remodeling, property management, or a related trade.
- Experience with drywall repair, painting, carpentry, or general building maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or appliance repair.
- Experience performing apartment turnovers or residential maintenance work.
- Groundskeeping or landscaping experience.

The role includes both indoor and outdoor work and provides variety each dayfrom apartment renovations and resident service requests to grounds maintenance and community improvement projects.

Job Type & Location: This is a Permanent position based out of Albany, NY.
Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
