Position Overview

The Judge Group is seeking a Physical Therapist (PT) for a full-time, direct-hire opportunity with one of our healthcare clients in Ocala, Florida .

The Physical Therapist will join an established outpatient rehabilitation team and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary group of healthcare professionals. This role is responsible for evaluating patients, developing individualized plans of care, delivering evidence-based treatment, and helping patients restore function, reduce pain, improve mobility, and achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Evaluation & Treatment

• Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations, including assessments of mobility, strength, coordination, posture, sensory perception, functional capacity, and overall physical function.
• Review physician referrals, diagnoses, medical histories, and other relevant clinical information.
• Develop individualized plans of care based on clinical findings, patient needs, functional limitations, and rehabilitation goals.
• Provide evidence-based physical therapy interventions, including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, gait and mobility training, functional activities, and other appropriate treatments.
• Utilize therapeutic modalities and equipment as clinically indicated, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, traction, heat/ice therapy, and exercise equipment.
• Assist patients with ambulation, activities of daily living, and the appropriate use of assistive and adaptive devices, including canes, crutches, braces, and prosthetics.
• Regularly reassess patient progress and modify treatment plans to support optimal clinical outcomes.

Patient Education & Care Coordination

• Educate patients and families regarding home exercise programs, safety precautions, injury prevention, adaptive equipment, and strategies that promote independence.
• Collaborate with physicians, Physical Therapist Assistants, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, rehabilitation technicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, case conferences, discharge planning, and other clinical discussions as appropriate.
• Provide supervision and clinical direction to Physical Therapist Assistants, rehabilitation technicians, and students as required.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, plans of care, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries within the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Ensure documentation and treatment practices comply with applicable Medicare, billing, regulatory, and professional standards.
• Maintain compliance with organizational policies, infection-control procedures, safety standards, and professional and ethical requirements.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development to remain current with advancements in physical therapy practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Florida Physical Therapist license or eligibility to obtain Florida licensure.
• Current CPR/BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• At least 1 year of outpatient physical therapy experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Productivity Expectations

• Approximately 1.5 patient visits per hour .
• Approximately 12 patients during an 8-hour shift .
• Effectively manage an assigned patient caseload while completing required clinical documentation.
• Maintain applicable clinical quality, productivity, compliance, billing, and patient satisfaction standards.
