Shift: 10HR with rotating weekends Job type: Full Time Hours: Days Position summary: Performed blood tests and studied the morphology of blood constituents to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Ensures instrumentation is operating in accordance with laboratory practice. Responsibilities Maintain established departmental policies, procedures, quality improvement program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Conduct job duties in accordance with hospital policy and safety/sanitation standards. Draw blood (venous & arterial) as necessary following all standards. Consult with the pathologist regarding difficult analyses or abnormal findings. Follow QC, QA, and PM programs; ensure accurate and complete documentation. Direct and monitor support staff, guiding decisions and streams of work. Enhance professional growth through participation in educational programs, literature, in‑service meetings, and workshops. Serve as a resource for problem solving, client concerns, and overall laboratory practices. Apprise laboratory management of issues, problems, concerns, and suggestions. Operate necessary computer systems to perform job functions. Qualifications Licensure: Requires licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. Minimum experience: Sufficient previous experience in all laboratory areas. Protective equipment: Face protection, lab coat or apron, non‑sterile medical gloves, utility gloves.
