iWorld Professionals is seeking a Buyer for our client a growing manufacturing company. This is an onsite position in Rochester NY.

Our client is a well-established manufacturing organization seeking a motivated Buyer to join its Supply Chain team. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring a reliable supply of components that support manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate is analytical, collaborative, and proactive, with experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You'll have the opportunity to influence purchasing strategy, improve supplier performance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Buyer Responsibilities:

• Source, negotiate, and purchase assigned commodities and materials.
• RFQ preparation, supplier quote evaluation, negotiation, and purchase order placement.
• Monitor supplier performance related to cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
• Manage open purchase orders and resolve exceptions, including late deliveries, expedites, cancellations, and shortages.
• Participate in supplier contract negotiations and support strategic sourcing initiatives.
• Identify cost savings opportunities and monitor purchase price variance.
• Conduct regular supplier meetings to review performance, address challenges, and strengthen partnerships.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Planning, and other cross-functional teams to support production requirements and new product introductions.
• Analyze purchasing data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvements.
• Develop strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure compliance with company procurement policies.

Buyer Qualifications:

• Minimum of 7 years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills with demonstrated results.
• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings or technical documentation is preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
• Strong business and financial acumen with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Ability to work onsite.
