Youth Counselor ORR (Bilingual Spanish)

HeartShare St. Vincent’s Services (HSVS) Nuevo Camino program is dedicated to providing 38 unaccompanied minors, ages 5-12, with a supportive, nurturing environment through transitional foster homes, daily education Monday - Friday, and supportive wrap-around services in the Sunset Park section of New York City. Our program is rooted in ensuring that service delivery is trauma informed, culturally appropriate, and tailored to the needs of each child while maintaining all program requirements of ORR.Nuevo Camino is looking for a Youth Counselor providing supervision, support, and direction to children in the Unaccompanied Minor program while promoting growth and development; completes all required logs, forms, and reports, participates in meetings as scheduled; accompanies groups or individual children for outside activities, transfers, or appointments as scheduled. Nuevo Camino is looking to hire staff to fill the three shifts with rotating weekend coverage:Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of Position:Training/Experience in youth social services required.Must be highly organized and able to work independentlyDemonstrated ability to work cooperatively with teamStrong interest in working with immigrant young personsComputer knowledge and writing skillsHSVS requires all new hires to provide proof of vaccination prior to their start date.
