Job Summary:

Assist in surgical procedures by providing technical support and ensuring the sterility and preparedness of surgical instruments and equipment. Collaborate with surgical teams to facilitate smooth operations across various specialties.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing and arranging surgical instruments and supplies.
  
  
• 
  Assist surgeons and nurses during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile environment.
  
  
• 
  Maintain accurate surgical count and document supplies used during operations.
  
  
• 
  Ensure proper functioning of surgical equipment, troubleshooting issues as needed.
  
  
• 
  Adhere to strict safety and infection control protocols in compliance with hospital policies.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Possess 2+ years of CST experience with expertise in orthopedic, neuro, general, robot-assisted, urology, GYN, and endovascular/vascular surgeries.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in surgical procedures and familiarity with surgical tools and techniques.
  
  
• 
  Hold a valid Michigan CST license; provide LARA and Nursys verification.
  
  
• 
  Complete a skills checklist within the past year for RN specialties; preferred for other professions.
  
  
• 
  Show familiarity with safety standards and infection control procedures.
