Ophthalmology Physician

The Vision Institute at UPMC is seeking a Pediatric Ophthalmologist at the Assistant/Associate Professor level to join our team. The new associate will have the opportunity to practice truly collaborative care. Applications from new or established clinicians or clinician scientists are encouraged. All applicants will be encouraged to develop an area of subspecialist interest.

About the Position

• Help to grow the departments already well-established multidisciplinary care pathways by fostering ties to the primary and specialty care physicians, both inside and outside the department.
• Focus will be in patient care, teaching and research.
• Duties will include didactic and clinical training of residents and fellows.
• Additionally, we have a dedicated molecular biologist, vision scientist and electrophysiologist, together with a research coordinator and two dedicated ophthalmo-genetic counselors.
• This position will be based at Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC Lawrenceville with clinics at nearby satellite offices and surgery centers.
• The department is very well equipped with collagen cross linking available, a myopia treatment center and all the latest imaging equipment including integrated intraoperative OCT, eye movement recordings and full visual electrophysiology lab.
