Job Title: Concrete Foreman / Concrete Finisher Job Description

This role oversees and performs a wide range of concrete work, including flatwork, curbs, driveways, sidewalks, walls, and foundations. You will lead and work alongside a crew to place, finish, and repair concrete while upholding high standards of quality, productivity, and safety. The position is hands-on and physically demanding, requiring consistent outdoor work in varying weather conditions and the ability to manage tasks from setup through final finish.

• Lead and work with a crew to complete concrete projects such as flatwork, curbs, driveways, sidewalks, walls, and foundations.
• Set up and install concrete forms according to project specifications and drawings.
• Place, spread, screed, and finish concrete using hand tools and power trowels to achieve the required surface and tolerances.
• Install and tie rebar and other reinforcement materials as required for structural concrete work.
• Monitor concrete placement, finishing, and curing to ensure quality, durability, and adherence to project standards.
• Perform repairs and patching on existing concrete structures as needed.
• Ensure all work areas remain clean, organized, and safe throughout each project.
• Follow and enforce safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Coordinate daily tasks, follow directions from leadership, and communicate effectively with team members.
• Arrive on time, ready to work at designated start times, and adapt to varying end times based on project needs.
• Travel to local job sites, typically within about an hour, and support multiple projects as assigned.

• Hands-on experience in commercial concrete construction.
• Proven experience with foundations, curbs, and structural concrete work.
• Concrete finishing skills, including flatwork and foundation finishing.
• Proficiency in form setting for concrete projects.
• Ability to work with rebar and other reinforcement materials.
• General construction and general labor experience in a field environment.
• Skilled use of trowels and related concrete finishing tools.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliability in arriving on time and following job site directions.
• Capability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Possession of basic hand tools suitable for concrete work.
• Possession of a hard hat and work boots suitable for construction sites.

• Experience working on a variety of concrete projects such as flatwork, sidewalks, driveways, walls, and foundations.
• Familiarity with structural concrete practices and job site sequencing.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finishes.
• Ability to communicate clearly with crew members and site leadership.
• Comfort working with changing schedules and varying project timelines.
• Dependable work ethic and willingness to follow established procedures.

Work takes place outdoors in a construction setting, with exposure to various weather conditions throughout the year. You will work alongside a team-oriented crew that values communication, safety, and cooperation. Typical start times range between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM, with end times varying based on project demands and concrete pour schedules. Most projects are local, with occasional day travel of up to approximately one hour to job sites in surrounding areas such as St. Johns and St. Joseph. The role requires the use of basic hand tools, trowels, and standard construction equipment, along with appropriate personal protective equipment, including a hard hat and work boots.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Caledonia, MI.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Caledonia,MI.
