POSITION SUMMARY The Material Handler-Warehouse Operator is responsible for operating a forklift and other material handling equipment for the purpose of shipping, receiving and picking. Activities may include but are not limited to loading or unloading, scanning, moving, staging, replenishing and stacking product. The Associate is responsible for counting and inspecting product and notifying leadership when there are damages or discrepancies. The Associate is expected to perform all duties as assigned and comply with all corporate and site‑specific policies. SHIPPING RESPONSIBILITIES Use a gas or electric powered forklift to load outbound shipments, move product and stack materials. Efficiently and accurately load orders according to the appropriate doors and trailers. Process all shipping functions as defined by Standard Operating Procedures. RECEIVING RESPONSIBILITIES Use a gas or electric powered forklift to unload inbound shipments, move product, replenish, stack and store products or materials. Locate and place products in the appropriate storage areas efficiently and accurately. Process all receiving functions as defined by Standard Operating Procedures. PICKING RESPONSIBILITIES Use a gas or electric powered forklift to accurately pick orders to fulfill client demands. Pick products efficiently and accurately and stage them in the appropriate areas. Stack, package, band, shrink‑wrap and label product(s) as determined by client requirements. Process all picking functions as defined by Standard Operating Procedures. QUALITY CONTROL RESPONSIBILITIES Use appropriate documentation to ensure that all products and orders are received, handled and shipped correctly. Verify that products and/or orders meet quality standards; report any damages or discrepancies. Stack, package, shrink‑wrap and label product(s) as part of quality control functions. Process all quality control functions as defined by Standard Operating Procedures. SAFETY, HOUSEKEEPING, AND COMPLIANCE Execute all safety protocols and accomplish job tasks in a manner that promotes safety. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the facility; assist in security of the warehouse. Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site‑specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/MSDS Standards. EQUIPMENT OPERATION Operate sit‑down, stand‑up, reach truck, sweeper scrubber, scissor lift, cherry picker, aisle master or pallet jack. Maintain equipment, report problems and perform daily inspections and minor maintenance. Operate all equipment safely and efficiently following prescribed work methods. Maintain an active forklift certification. MAINTENANCE Assist in building, grounds and equipment maintenance as assigned. OTHER DUTIES Perform other duties as assigned. Work overtime as dictated by business, whether mandatory or voluntary. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED). 6 months experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment. Able to operate material handling equipment (MHE). Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program. Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months ranging from mild to moderate. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES Basic computer skills. Experience with RF scanners and WMS functions. English (reading, writing, verbal). Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities and performing inventory tasks. Strong attention to detail, accuracy and ability to complete tasks on time. Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance. Adaptability and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced work environment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 1‑3 years of experience in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment. 1‑3 years of forklift experience. Current or prior MHE certification. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Occasionally handling/fingering, sitting. Frequently bending, squatting, kneeling. Constantly walking and standing. Ability to lift/carry and push/pull 21‑50 pounds. Use of reach above shoulder, reach outward. WORK ENVIRONMENT The employee is rarely exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level is usually low to moderate. For this position, the expected base pay range is $20.00 - $20.00. Actual compensation will depend on experience, skills, education, certifications and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
