Banquet Captain

Herschend is seeking an experienced and meticulous Banquet Captain to lead banquet operations for our newest hospitality venture, Dolly Parton’s SongTeller Hotel, located in the heart of Downtown Nashville. The ideal candidate is driven to create meaningful experiences for our hosts, guests, and community while ensuring the success and profitability of banquets and catering.

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Must be well organized and efficient. Performs planning and organizing of functions for the banquet department, including maintaining the banquet logbook, temperature log books, consumption sheets, maintaining and updating banquet event function sheets Check banquet rooms and banquet back of house areas for cleanliness, proper set up, sufficient supplies, and equipment Open communication with management and hosts that may include evaluations of hosts, minor scheduling and complete training of service hosts Monitor functions to ensure steps of service are followed Responsible for HotSos maintenance repair tickets and/or cleaning schedules for all banquet equipment and facilities Supervise the food and beverage services of banquet functions, including set-up, service, and breakdown Coordinate function details with banquet, conference planning, and kitchen staff Conduct Pre-Shift meetings with banquet service hosts before each event Coordinate food pickup in the kitchen and have all functions ready and hosts in position 15 minutes prior to every function/event Inspect food products to ensure quality and quantity guidelines are followed Ensure all BEO checks are accurately compiled, and submitted for billing to the group folio Ensure accurate daily sales reconciliation and time and attendance records are completed and provided to the Food and Beverage Director

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 18 years old High school diploma or equivalent One (1) year of foods/banquet service experience Supervisory experience preferred Must be able to obtain Serve Safe certification within first 30 days Tennessee Alcohol Board Commission (TABC) Certification, Required Basic Computer Skills Must be able to pass a background check Driver's license and acceptable driving record required if appointed authorized to drive This job description is not an “all-inclusive’ list of the duties and responsibilities of this position or of the skills and abilities required to perform this position.
