Sushi Chef’s must have a strong desire to pursue culinary in the future or prior restaurant experience. A Sushi Chef will work in front of guests while preparing foods at the sushi bar and ensuring a fun and inviting experience. They should also possess high energy, be outgoing, and be a quality driven team player.Responsibilities:The essential duties and responsibilities of a Sushi Chef include, but are not limited to, the following:Preparation of all types of sushi line in accordance with approved recipes and portion controlsFollows and executes prep lists dailyMaintains policies and procedures to minimize food waste and theftCleans food preparation area and equipment after each useProvides a professional image at all times through proper Cinemark culinary attireEnsures that standard operating procedures and all preventative maintenance, safety, sanitation are consistently achievedConsistently wipes down and sanitizes Employee and Guest high-contact areasProperly utilizes Personal Protective Equipment while completing position-specific tasksAdapts to the frequency and scope of required cleaning tasksMonitors safety and or security issues (trip hazards, lighting, suspicious persons, etc.) and reports issues to managementPerforms other work-related duties as assignedRequirements:Must be at least 18 years of ageCompletes basic food handling training and obtains any local or state mandated certification, health card, or food handlers permit where requiredTeam Members who work with alcohol are required to complete a Safe Alcohol Service training programAvailability to work flexible hours which include evenings, weekends, and holidaysRequires regular and consistent attendanceHas an energetic and friendly attitude during each shiftProvides excellent Guest serviceInterpersonal skills include the ability to communicate (verbal and written) with all ages, genders, and personalities. Must be able to effectively and regularly converse in and comprehend EnglishAbility to work in a team environment and independentlyAbility to take and follow directionResponds with a sense of urgencyPrior work experience as a Sushi Cook or sushi products preferredAbility to proficiently prepare food for consumption with background knowledge of proper techniques and equipment to be usedMust be able to clearly explain how food is prepared, cooked, and served to guests.Advanced knife skills a plusPhysical and Environmental Requirements:Frequent bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.Frequent standing, walking and reaching around the theater.Noise level may be moderate to high at times.Be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time.Benefits Available:At Cinemark, we believe every team member should feel like a hero.
