QUALITY INSPECTOR

Reports to: Quality Supervisor with a dotted line to the Quality Manager Role: To inspect for any quality flaws, apply correct pillows, legs, back/arm wrap, identification ticket/serial label, and attach hangtags. The major responsibilities are listed below: - Pull the piece of furniture down (correct side up) on the final buggy after the trim out upholsterer is finished. Pull exertion is needed - Inspect the piece of furniture for any quality flaws. If a flaw is found, notify the correct associate on the assembly line to repair the flaw. If the associate does not repair the flaw, notify the line supervisor or the quality supervisor. - Adhere the serial label and identification label to the seat decking. - Place the proper back pillows, if applicable, and throw pillows, if applicable, in the piece of furniture. Lift exertion is needed. - Apply the appropriate hangtags with a hangtag gun. This is done by inserting the needle of the gun through the hole in the hangtags, pushing the needle into the back of the furniture, pulling the trigger and then releasing. For leather/vinyl pieces, the needle should be placed into a seam so a hole does not show once the hangtags are removed. - Apply the back/arm wrap by tucking one end between the arm and seat cushion, wrapping around the outside back and the other arm and tucking between other the arm and the seat cushion. - Place the correct legs in on the cushion and make sure they are tied in with a seat cushion sash. - Once the bagger has bagged the piece of furniture adhere the identification ticket to the back side of the bag for all pieces except for ottomans and chairs. - Pull the pillow buggies up to the inspector station as needed. Pull exertion is needed. Physical process: - Performs duties while standing - Will require minimal walking - Will require bending, lifting, and pulling - Requires moderate lifting up to 50 pounds - Climate -- hot and cold depending on outside weather - Very repetitive motions Work Location: In person
