Pay Range $38.93 - $54.76 Radiologic Technologist/Sonographer must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care on assigned unit, applying principles of growth and development, assessing patient data, and interpreting information to identify needs in line with unit policies and procedures. Essential Functions Provide radiographic/sonographic examination of all body parts for diagnostic interpretation, exercising professional judgment and radiation protection principles. Perform diagnostic imaging within department and other areas. Maintain patient records and files. Assume responsibility for departmental quality assurance program. Pursue continuing education. Transfer patient to and from radiology. In supervisor’s absence, assume department responsibility. Rotate shifts as required. Perform ancillary duties as requested. Follow policies and procedures set by SEARHC Administration. Assist in general hygiene of department and self. Work well under stress. Available to take call and report within 20 minutes. Learn other imaging modalities as needed (Ultrasound, MRI, CT, Mammography). Maintain competency in ancillary modalities. Perform other duties as assigned. Mammography Perform breast needle localization, specimen radiography, quality control, screening, diagnostic, stereotactic breast biopsy. Actively pursue five CEU mammography credits per year; perform 100 mammograms per year. Ultrasound Perform all requested diagnostic exams, pursue RDMS certification (Abd, OB/GYN, RVT, RDCS). Continuously pursue education to fulfill radiology and RDMS requirements. Care for transducers and workspace; manage paperwork; assist with invasive procedures. Contribute to policy and procedure development. Consult referring physicians; care of Trophon station; support accreditation efforts. MRI Perform requested procedures; care for coils; maintain paperwork; participate in policy development. Communicate with referring physicians; perform venipuncture; manage magnet safety. Perform quench procedure; maintain area cleanliness and processor care; daily/weekly QC. CT / Interventional Care for equipment; maintain records; assist with invasive procedures. Contribute to procedure preparation; consult physicians; pursue venipuncture. Follow standard precautions; adjust protocols for pediatric/adolescent/geriatric patients. Change contrast levels by age group; set up injectors; familiarize with contraindications. Competent in tele‑radiology and sterile technique; assist inventory and ordering; daily/weekly QC. Lead Technologist Support imaging manager and director; help achieve organizational goals. Validate PACS entries; ensure accurate labeling. Organize workflow; assign staff schedule; address staff concerns. Identify and resolve operational problems; assist with hiring; coordinate orientation. Serve as expert resource for clinical, technical, patient, customer, and process queries. Secondary Functions Attend department meetings, in‑services, and disaster drills. Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required Current ARRT in Radiography OR Current ARDMS in one category (Abd or OB/GYN) BLS certification required within 45 days of start Clinical competency required within 3 months of hire and every three years Experience Required Ability to perform all diagnostic exams related to assigned modality. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Tech I – ARRT or ARDMS in one modality. Tech II – ARRT (CT, MR, MG, NM) or ARDMS certified in two modalities/categories. Tech III – ARRT (CT, MR, MG, NM) or ARDMS certified in three modalities/categories. Tech IV – ARRT (CT, MR, MG, NM) or ARDMS certified in four modalities/categories. Travel Required Travel may be required to serve various SEARHC sites by jet, small aircraft, or boat.
