Phlebotomist - Float Support

Responsibilities Perform phlebotomies and other specimen collections in physicians' offices, at draw sites, and at health fairs. Accurately identify patients, select correct patient in HIS and other systems, retrieve correct lab orders, and complete collection tasks. Properly collect specimens, accurately label samples, and correctly prepare them for transport to the lab. Communicate with patients, nurses, physicians’ offices, family members, and other caregivers. Maintain standing orders and document waste removal, fire drills, and other regulatory requirements. Process specimens independently without direct supervision. Prioritize, organize, and handle the quantity of work while maintaining accuracy, quality, and completeness. Execute complex assignments, demonstrate judgment and problem‑solving skills. Adhere to overall procedure knowledge and quality assurance documentation requirements. Qualifications High School Degree or GED (no equivalent experience in lieu of degree). Formal phlebotomy training and certification preferred. Experience in phlebotomy and specimen collection techniques, including difficult venipunctures and pediatric draws; knowledge of lab terminology and proper specimen handling procedures. Strong attendance, data entry, communication, and customer service skills; ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 1–2 years’ experience in phlebotomy. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Climbing – Frequently Consistently concentrating, learning, hearing conversation and other sounds, interpersonal communication, reading, talking, thinking/reasoning, use of hands, color vision, visual acuity (far and near), walking, sitting, standing. Occasionally kneeling, stooping, pushing; occasionally lifting 10 lbs., 50+ lbs., and 50 lbs.; continuously pulling; frequently pushing. Work Hours Float support position across multiple sites. Full-time – 80 hours bi‑weekly. Day shift schedule. No weekend or holiday commitment.
