SALARY SCHEDULE PLACEMENT: Range of $51,341 - $87,410 based upon the 2026-2027 Alabama Community College System and Shelton State Community College Salary Schedule C3-3 to be determined by the applicant's education and years of applicable experience. - Establish an effective athletic training program for the College's athletic department
- Provide first aid and injury assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning for the College's student-athletes
- Assess and make appropriate physician referrals for student-athletes as deemed necessary
- Assess and make recommendations to the College's coaches regarding the physical fitness of the College's student-athletes for participation in athletic events
- Coordinate the annual required athletic physicals and supervise the clearance of injured student-athletes prior to and during the sport seasons
- Maintain a line of communication with the team physician(s) regarding athletic health care and recommended treatment and/or rehabilitation for all athletic-related injuries to student-athletes
- Assist coaching staff in evaluating and implementing sport-specific conditioning programs and methods
- Maintain an effective and efficient athletic training room
- Facilitate the preparation and filing of all necessary reports associated with athletic injuries and/or incidents
- Oversee the ordering of supplies and equipment pertaining to the athletic training room and maintain an up-to-date inventory based upon the needs of the College
- Provide the Athletic Director with an annual budget for supplies and equipment
- Assess and equip each of the College's sports teams with appropriate medical equipment
- Assist in the selection and fitting of protective equipment, including special taping, pads, or braces
- Create a safe playing environment by monitoring and controlling environmental risks
- Share professional literature related to athletic training with the College's coaching staff
- Establish and provide EPAs for all athletic venues for all the College's sports teams
- Maintain current CPR and AED certifications
- Teach and facilitate the certification of all the College's athletic coaches in CPR and AED
- Attend all home practices and games
- Provide regular updates to the Athletic Director
- Collaborate with athletic staff on ideas to better serve the athletic department
- Provide daily and weekly updates to coaches for injured athletes
- Evaluate all athletic venues for safety precautions
