Store Manager

Overview The Manager in Training (MIT) will learn overall store operations, including expenses, merchandising, compliance, safety, and workforce management. During this period the MIT works closely with Human Resources, Asset Protection, and Operations teams to execute the PGA TOUR Superstore business strategy and build a customer‑centric, high‑performing culture aligned with the company mission. Position Summary As a MIT, you will develop the skills needed to lead a store team, achieve operational excellence, and apply associate‑engagement strategies to support future leadership within the organization. Key Responsibilities Customer Experience Lead a knowledgeable team that delivers a differentiated experience and prioritizes customers. Listen and respond to internal and external customers, building strong relationships. Use customer feedback to coach and recognize teams, driving improvement in key experience areas. Ensure accuracy of store information to prevent negative customer experiences. Maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and upkeep of the retail building and equipment. Operational Excellence Create and oversee the day‑to‑day execution of the strategic plan, driving sales and profitability through analyses and action. Make business decisions informed by market competition, customer insights, and company reporting. Maintain compliance with all corporate directives, deadlines, publications, standards, meetings, policies, and procedures. Ensure compliance with safety and security policies and foster a culture of ethical conduct. Inspect staffing schedules for peak traffic, holiday events, and weekend coverage. Associate Engagement Promote an inclusive, people‑first atmosphere and uphold core values while building a high‑performing team. Act as the cultural ambassador, driving improvements in associate engagement and retention. Develop, implement, and monitor Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for store leaders. Establish performance and development goals for Assistant General Managers and provide coaching. Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through inclusionary behaviors. Recruit, hire, and retain a passionate team with area‑specific expertise, and lead the onboarding experience. Handle compensation, disciplinary, or staffing/human‑resources actions per company standards. Qualifications and Skills Strong listening and interpersonal communication skills. Strategic analytical abilities to forecast business needs and solve complex problems. Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite. Conflict management and accountability to hold others responsible. Business acumen and total accountability for P&L. Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities. Leadership by example with a high standard of customer service. High school diploma or G.E.D.; college degree preferred. Three years of experience in sales, management, or people development; college degree preferred. Ability to stand for extended periods, climb ladders, move throughout the store, and lift up to 30 lb.
