Litigation Associate Attorney

An established and highly regarded law firm is seeking an Intellectual Property Associate to join its growing IP practice. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced attorneys on a broad range of patent, trademark, and intellectual property matters, including both prosecution and litigation. The successful candidate will gain exposure to matters before the USPTO, state and federal courts, and administrative proceedings while developing their practice within a collaborative and dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patent prosecution matters before the USPTO.
• Support intellectual property litigation matters through all stages of the dispute process.
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Advise clients on patent, trademark, and broader intellectual property issues.
• Participate in administrative proceedings, court matters, and appellate work as required.
• Collaborate with attorneys across a variety of intellectual property disciplines.
• Contribute to business development initiatives and client relationship management.

Qualifications

• Registered to practice before the USPTO, or possess the educational and technical qualifications required to sit for the USPTO registration examination.
• Active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
• 1–3 years of intellectual property experience gained within a law firm or in-house legal department.
• Technical background required, with a preference for candidates holding qualifications in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Exceptional attention to detail and client service skills.
• Interest in developing a broad intellectual property practice, including both prosecution and litigation.
