Per Diem Respiratory Therapist – RWJBarnabas Health

A typical day for a Per Diem Respiratory Therapist may include:

• Performing basic and advanced respiratory therapy procedures within the scope of respiratory patient care services.
• Assessing patients and providing respiratory treatments based on physician orders and established clinical protocols.
• Transcribing and implementing physician orders accurately and efficiently.
• Administering oxygen therapy and monitoring patient response.
• Utilizing advanced assessment skills to identify changes in patient condition and adjust care as appropriate.
• Managing and monitoring patients requiring ventilator support.
• Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Documenting patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes in the electronic medical record.
• Ensuring compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

To be considered for this Per Diem Respiratory Therapist opportunity:

• Graduate of an NBRC-approved School of Respiratory Care .
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) .
• Current New Jersey State Respiratory Care License .
• Successful completion of all required orientation and onboarding programs.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to obtain per organizational requirements).
