Maintenance Associate

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor

Pay: $15 per hour

Position Summary: The Maintenance Associate performs semi-skilled maintenance work involving physical labor, repairs, and general facility upkeep. This position is responsible for completing a variety of maintenance tasks and projects while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform building repairs including sheetrock repair, painting, wall systems, and general facility maintenance.
• Repair flooring including carpet tile, VCT, and baseboards.
• Perform ceiling repairs including hard ceilings, acoustical tiles, and metal panels.
• Complete painting projects using latex, oil-based, and epoxy coatings.
• Perform minor plumbing repairs such as clearing clogs and replacing fixtures, faucets, and related parts.
• Operate maintenance equipment including saws, drills, screw guns, paint equipment, and various hand tools.
• Dismantle defective equipment and install new or repaired parts.
• Perform additional maintenance duties and special projects as assigned.
• Participate in on-call or overtime work as needed for emergencies and equipment issues.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of related maintenance experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic carpentry skills required.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions, safety information, and work orders.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle a variety of maintenance situations.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of general building maintenance, repair methods, and techniques.
• Knowledge of carpentry, painting, plumbing, and facility repair.
• Understanding of workplace safety practices and procedures.
• Ability to safely use hand tools and power equipment.

License

• Valid Mississippi Driver’s License required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work in various positions.
• Must be able to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Must have the ability to safely operate tools and equipment.

Work Environment

Work may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals, noise, heights, and various indoor and outdoor conditions. Employees must follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
