Position Summary

The Residential Plumber is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining residential plumbing systems and fixtures while delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring all work meets local code and safety standards.

This role requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, professionalism, and the ability to communicate effectively with homeowners.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and install residential plumbing systems and fixtures
• Service water heaters, faucets, toilets, garbage disposals, drains, and piping systems
• Troubleshoot plumbing issues and provide effective repair solutions
• Perform drain cleaning, leak detection, and plumbing maintenance services
• Install water supply lines, drainage systems, and plumbing fixtures
• Inspect plumbing systems and identify code or safety concerns
• Educate homeowners on repair options, system performance, and preventative maintenance
• Maintain accurate service records, invoices, and job documentation
• Ensure all work complies with local plumbing codes and company safety standards
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in clean and safe working condition
• Respond to service calls and participate in on-call rotations as needed
• Deliver professional, courteous, and high-quality customer service on every visit

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 2 years of residential plumbing experience
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently and manage service calls efficiently
• Strong communication and customer service abilities
• Ability to lift, carry, and move plumbing tools, equipment, and materials
• Ability to work in physically demanding conditions including standing, kneeling, crouching, and lifting for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Journeyman Plumber license preferred but not required
• Trade school, apprenticeship, or community college plumbing training preferred
• Experience in residential service and repair plumbing
• OSHA certification is a plus
• Experience with tankless water heaters, water filtration systems, and sewer line repairs preferred

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Work in indoor and outdoor residential environments in varying weather conditions
• Ability to work in crawl spaces, attics, basements, and confined spaces as needed
• Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and lifting
• Ability to safely lift and carry 50+ pounds
• Occasional evening or weekend work may be required
