Data Engineering Manager

• Foremost an engineer: You exemplify high code quality and guide others, and have at least 5 years of industry experience as a data engineer or similar role.
• Experienced People Manager: You have experience managing 3 or more people whereby you were accountable for their growth and success as individuals and team members.
• Communication Extraordinaire: You excel at communicating to both technical and non-technical people, with an ability to explain complex concepts simply.
• Player Coach: You are able to contribute individually, outside of your reports or team, balancing priorities between being a player (i.e. individual contributor) and a coach (i.e. manager or mentor).
• See a project from end-to-end: You have led several projects, your own ideas and other's. This means from idea generation to planning, execution, through delivering.
• ML/AI–aware: You have working knowledge of how ML/AI applications are deployed and monitored, and you’re motivated to use this awareness to advance data-driven initiatives.

Here's How You Will Make an Impact:

• Collaborate with product managers, data analysts, and machine learning engineers to develop pipelines and ETL tasks in order to facilitate the extraction of insights.
• Establish data architecture processes and practices that can be scheduled, automated, replicated and serve as standards for other teams to leverage.
• Inform data team strategy by working with the product leaders and managers.
• Actively participate in execution and some planning of organizational data team strategy.
• Collaborate with Doximity’s Data Leadership team to ensure alignment and success across the entire Data Organization.
• Manage individual Data Engineers to foster learning, growth and success at Doximity.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of industry experience as a data engineer or similar role.
• Expert in Python and fluent in SQL.
• Experience managing 3 or more people.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts simply to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience leading projects from idea generation to delivery.
• Working knowledge of ML/AI applications.
