Survey Project Manager

Survey Manager / Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) We are partnered with a well‑established, multidisciplinary engineering and consulting firm that continues to experience strong growth across the Southeast. With a diverse portfolio of public and private land development projects, the organization is seeking a Survey Manager / Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to lead surveying operations, oversee technical staff and field crews, and drive the successful execution of complex projects. Responsibilities Leading all aspects of the surveying and geomatics department, including field operations and office‑based technical staff. Managing survey services for public and private sector land improvement and development projects. Building and maintaining relationships with clients, project stakeholders, government officials, and industry partners. Planning, organizing, and supervising survey crews, technicians, and support personnel. Overseeing project schedules, resource allocation, contract administration, and project delivery. Providing technical guidance on survey computations, plat preparation, mapping, and quality assurance standards. Solving complex surveying challenges through innovative approaches while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Qualifications Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) licensure in North Carolina and/or South Carolina preferred. 5+ years of progressive surveying management experience, ideally supporting residential and commercial development projects. Strong working knowledge of Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and Trimble survey equipment. Experience managing survey data collection, processing, and deliverables using Trimble or Android-based platforms. Thorough understanding of GPS technology and modern surveying methodologies. Demonstrated leadership, organizational, project management, and client‑facing communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, and Google Earth is a plus. Ability to pass a drug screen, background check, and maintain an acceptable driving record.
