Program Supervisor I- CSU

Program Supervisor I, Crisis Stabilization Unit Richmond Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA) Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) has a full‑time position available for a Program Supervisor I. The preferred candidate will perform skilled human services support and administrative work supervising and coordinating the provision of mental health technician staff for the client population as part of the CSU Management Team, and related work as apparent or assigned. Provides supervision to subordinate mental health technician staff and unit supervision in the absence of the CSU Program Manager II, Program Supervisor II, or Nursing Supervisor. Performs safe and effective human support work maintaining the safety of clients, monitoring clients, managing staff schedules, coordinating meal service and delivery, facilitating educational groups, performing and assisting clients with laundry duties, encouraging clients to adhere to treatment goals, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the supervision of the CSU Program Manager II. Essential Functions Provides staff supervision, coaching, and performance management to Mental Health Technicians and completes interim and annual evaluations. Maintains staffing schedules for all direct reports; assists with accuracy of payroll. Manages Mental Health Technician callouts prior to on‑call hours to ensure adequate coverage. Completes Electronic Health Record audit and Quality Assurance of notes. Assists with hiring of Mental Health Technician staff and provides new staff orientation. Participates in agency management and planning meetings, as needed. Responds to emergencies and assists in crisis intervention. Monitors and maintains unit safety; monitors clients and assists with their activities of daily living; monitors eating, sleeping and hygiene habits. Schedules and facilitates every other month All Mental Health Tech staff meetings. Facilitates and assists with the development of program groups and completes group documentation and shift documentation, shift report, and 15‑minute checks. Performs direct client service duties by meeting and greeting clients upon arrival to the unit and taking an inventory to check for contraband and pests; makes beds and orients client to the unit. Maintains the cleanliness of the unit and client laundry; assists clients with special needs; serves meals. Engages and provides verbal support for clients face‑to‑face constantly and completes progress notes for every engagement. Facilitates discharges in full consultation with the case management team. Manages meal requisitions listing census counts to the catering organization. Performs clerical duties as needed. Attends meetings, trainings and seminars as assigned. Position Requirements Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree with coursework in psychology, social work, counseling, sociology, nursing or related field and moderate experience in clinical documentation. Experience working with people with mental illness and co‑occurring disorders, group facilitation, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous supervisory experience in a behavioral health setting preferred. Advanced knowledge of computer systems and technology. Special Requirements Valid driver’s license in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Ability to work weekends, various shifts, and holidays. Able to qualify as QMHP. Advanced computer literacy. Job responsibilities as assigned. CPR certified.
