Respiratory Therapist - New Grad - All Locations

Responsibilities Provide respiratory care treatment, oxygen services, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support for patients of all ages. Monitor and wean oxygen therapy and artificial ventilation. Draw, analyze, and report arterial blood gases and EKGs. Deliver intermittent therapy and assist with changing artificial airways. Perform routine and advanced therapeutic procedures according to policies. Review and document all clinical information for each patient. Educate patients and coworkers on procedures and treatment plans. Perform diagnostic procedures and provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, and safety criteria. Maintain professional certifications and stay current with technical procedures. Attend staff meetings and other related duties as required. Qualifications Education: Associate's Degree. Work Experience: None required. Certifications: Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice (Credentialed by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Certified Respiratory Therapist). Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) (only for trained therapists working in the NICU). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and patient information retrieval. Proficiency with Windows applications and keyboard. Effective verbal and written communication. Strong analytical skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Physical and Environmental Demands May require lifting heavy weights: exerting over 100 lbs occasionally, over 50 lbs frequently, and over 20 lbs constantly. Exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, communicable diseases, hazardous medications, and hazardous waste. Occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous substances.
