Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teaching Certification for the state of Michigan
• Experience adapting curriculum and instruction for students with a range of disabilities
• Strong understanding of IEP processes, compliance, and documentation
• Skilled in collaboration with general education staff, support professionals, and families
• Positive, student-focused attitude and classroom management skills
• Flexibility to work with various grade levels as needed

Core Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in accordance with student needs and district guidelines
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
• Monitor, assess, and document student progress, using data to guide instruction
• Communicate regularly and effectively with parents, guardians, and colleagues
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet students’ learning styles and functional needs
• Participate in professional development and school meetings as required
