Under the direction of the Program and Project Supervisor, you will conduct analyzes and advise decisionmakers on topics that require you to balance the state's climate goals with gas and energy safety, reliability, and affordability. If you are a clear communicator and a pragmatic problem-solver who thrives in a team environment, the Building Decarbonization and Gas Policy Branch within the Energy Division could be a good place to take the next step on your career path.

The Building Decarbonization and Gas Policy Branch includes the following sections: Natural Gas Policy and Reliability, Building Decarbonization, Gas and Oil Pipeline Costs and Rates, and Renewable Gas and Core Transport Agent Oversight. Please note: The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) does not participate in the federal E-Verify program. This position require travel.

This is a hybrid position that will require the selected candidate to report to their assigned headquarter office a minimum of two (2) days a week. Hybrid positions may be eligible for telework under California Government Code Section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California. In accordance with CPUC Telework Policy, telework arrangements are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time.

1. Describe your experience conducting technical, economic, financial, and/or policy research and analysis. 
2. Describe your experience writing reports, briefing documents, and/or legislative analyses.
   
3. Describe your experience working on projects while maintaining cooperative working relationships with others.

This position may be filled at either the Public Utilities Regulatory Analyst II or I level for recruitment purposes. Duties will be adjusted commensurate with the level at which the position is filled.
