Preschool Behavior Instructor (RBT)

Summary Behavior Instructors (Registered Behavior Technicians, RBT) directly implement evidence-based intervention for children with autism, ages 18 months to 5 years, under the direction and supervision of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). As part of a transdisciplinary team of professionals, an Early Intervention Behavior Instructor (RBT) is responsible for facilitating learning for children with autism. RBTs at Young Mind Center (YMC) have experience working with young children, with and without autism, and are adept at identifying and seizing learning opportunities while managing unwanted behaviors and implementing plans to prevent their occurrence. Additionally, you are an advocate for our mission, a model of professionalism, a source of support and partnership for families, a proactive and effective communicator, a willing collaborator, and an active part of our community. Duties Directly implement evidence-based intervention for children with autism in both clinic and classroom settings. Identify and capture naturally occurring learning opportunities throughout the day. Collect and graph data related to skill acquisition targets and maladaptive behaviors. Utilize positive reinforcement and antecedent modifications to increase appropriate behaviors. Utilize positive behavior support strategies when unwanted behaviors arise. Individualize instruction to accommodate a variety of learning styles. Provide timely written documentation. Communicate effectively and collaborate with all transdisciplinary team members (behavior analysts, classroom teachers, psychologist, speech pathologist, occupational therapist, parents, and fellow instructors).
