SUMMARYMortenson is currently seeking a Senior MEP Estimator I - Electrical that will be responsible for leading estimating efforts of gathering, calculating, and compiling data to produce project estimates for large projects, and may also manage multiple projects.This is a hybrid position and must be based in one of these locations: Chicago, Denver, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Nashville, Phoenix, Portland, Salt Lake City, or Seattle RESPONSIBILITIESOrganize, plan, and schedule estimate preparation, leading teams of estimators on large projectsFacilitate meetings for estimate completion, assign work, and ensure reliable estimates incorporating all relevant informationPrepare trade partner strategy, invitations to bid, and budgets, ensuring complete pricing coverage and obtaining relevant documents, including BIMPromote collaboration for comprehensive scope and budget alignment, ensuring completion of changes discussed in estimate reviewsConduct quantity surveys, determine site logistics and schedule requirements, and utilize cost history to inform scope and pricingEnsure estimates meet company and group margin goals, prepare and present margin plans, and manage Bid Day and estimate presentationsUtilize Eos Cortex for cost modeling, value analysis, and target value delivery, performing cost studies and assisting design teamsPrepare or supervise preparation of self-performed work scopes, ensuring accurate pricing and proper allocation of costs, work hours, and quantitiesBuild and maintain relationships with operations personnel, design partners, trade partners, and owners, and maintain industry knowledge baseLead by example, coach and mentor team members, advance group capabilities, assist in software selection, and effectively work with diverse backgrounds and organizational levelsQUALIFICATIONSAssociate or Bachelor’s degree in Estimating, Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field experience Minimum nine years construction industry experienceAble to manage multiple large projects successfully, exhibiting complete command of the scope and budget, and leading teams of estimators on complex workProficient in using BIM, plans, and other project documents to quantify work, and identifying resources to provide quality guidance during the design phase to keep projects on budgetKnowledgeable in all building systems, contract types, and other potential impacts to the project, using industry relationships to increase knowledge, problem-solve, and mitigate riskRecognizes risk and works with design phase teams to mitigate it, with a thorough understanding of pricing, productivities for self-performed work, and maintaining data qualitySets target budgets and completes cost models using cost history software (Cortex), understanding impacts to pricing, and completing large, complex self-performed estimates, including general conditionsUnderstands and factors into estimates impacts related to schedule and logistics, consistently advancing group capabilities through involvement in initiatives and coaching less experienced team membersDemonstrated ability to coach and mentor junior Estimators, effectively preparing deliverables and presenting completed estimates to internal and external customers with complete command of scope and budgetPossesses understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices, with a proven positive and professional attitude, strong customer service skills, and active listening and effective communicationKnowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, inclusive behaviors, and Affirmative Action plans, with the Detail-oriented; proven ability to organize and manage multiple projects, tasks, and initiatives in support of company and group improvement, with expertise in building and estimating techniques and softwareA few benefits offered include: (for Non-Craft & Non-Union Craft working 25+ hours / week)Medical and prescription drug plans that includes no additional cost vision coverage Dental plan 401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson matchPaid time off, holidays, and other paid leaves Employer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insurance No-Cost mental health tool and concierge with extensive work-life resourcesTuition reimbursement Adoption Assistance Gym Membership Discount Program The base pay range for this role is $128,200 - $192,300. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
