The Nashville General Hospital Foundation is seeking an inspiring and results-oriented Executive Director to lead fundraising, community engagement, and strategic growth efforts in support of one of Middle Tennessee's most vital healthcare institutions. Reporting to the Foundation Board of Directors and partnering closely with hospital leadership, the Executive Director serves as the Foundation's chief fundraiser, ambassador, and strategic leader. This individual will cultivate major donors, strengthen community partnerships, engage board members, and expand philanthropic support to advance equitable healthcare access and improved health outcomes throughout Nashville. This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on a historic safety-net hospital that serves thousands of patients and families across the region. Key Responsibilities Lead all fundraising activities, including major gifts, corporate partnerships, grants, annual giving, planned giving, and special events. Build and manage relationships with donors, community leaders, and strategic partners. Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that drives sustainable revenue growth. Leadership & Community Engagement Serve as the public face and chief ambassador of the Foundation. Partner with Board and hospital leadership to advance philanthropic priorities. Build strong relationships across the healthcare, nonprofit, business, and civic sectors. Board & Organizational Leadership Support and engage the Foundation Board in governance and fundraising efforts. Oversee Foundation operations, financial management, reporting, and compliance. Strengthen development infrastructure and organizational effectiveness. Ideal Candidate The successful candidate is a strategic relationship-builder with a passion for mission-driven leadership and community impact. Qualifications include: 7+ years of leadership experience in nonprofit development, healthcare philanthropy, foundation leadership, or a related field. Proven success securing major gifts and developing fundraising strategies. Strong executive presence, communication, and relationship-building skills. Experience working with boards, donors, and community stakeholders.
