Department: Maintenance South Coast Lumber Compensation: $24.42-28.57 DOE per hour (After a probationary period, potential for shift differential) Schedule: Swing or Graveyard Shift (Day shift for training) | 4060 hours per week (Weekends and some holidays)

About the Role

Join our team at South Coast Lumber as a Millwright Helper and gain hands-on experience working alongside skilled millwrights. In this role, you'll learn to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial equipment while supporting the safe and efficient operation of our facility. Ideal for mechanically minded individuals ready to grow their career in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This role is designed as a developmental position with the potential to transition into a Millwright Apprenticeship Program based on performance, skill progression, and business needs. Key Responsibilities

• Assist millwrights with mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery.
• Help with the disassembly and reassembly of equipment during scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• Support preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and ensure safe operation.
• Accurately interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to complete assigned tasks.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Must own or be willing and able to purchase required tools.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Strong commitment to safety and reliability.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical diagrams.
• Must own or be willing to purchase essential millwright tools.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Previous mechanical or maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, or working around heavy machinery.
