The Technical Infrastructure team designs, builds, and operates the foundational platforms that power Williams-Sonoma, Inc. across corporate offices, retail locations, fulfillment operations, and customer-facing digital experiences. This includes compute, storage, networking, security, observability, cloud, and core infrastructure services. Within this organization, the Data Center Services function is responsible for maintaining secure, resilient, and efficient physical infrastructure across enterprise data center environments, Distribution Centers, and corporate locations with MDF/IDF cabinets. The team partners closely with server, network, storage, security, facilities, and operations teams to support the physical foundation required for reliable technology services at enterprise scale.

Project Description As Senior Systems Engineer, Data Center Services, you will be responsible for the design, standardization, optimization, and lifecycle management of data center physical infrastructure. You will help improve reliability, resiliency, safety, scalability, and operational efficiency across power, cooling, structured cabling, rack design, environmental monitoring, and hardware deployment practices. This role is ideal for a hands-on infrastructure engineer with deep data center expertise, strong operational judgment, and a practical approach to engineering standards and continuous improvement. You will partner closely with peer infrastructure teams, facilities, operations, vendors, and leadership to deliver reliable data center services, improve operational readiness, and contribute to the continued evolution of enterprise data center strategy.

Duties/Day to Day Overview Design and support data networks for data centers, corporate facilities, retail stores, distribution centers, call centers, and eCommerce environment. Design, develop, implement, and support network solutions for IT projects.

Define, implement, and maintain enterprise standards for data center physical infrastructure, including rack design, power distribution, cooling, cabling, labeling, and deployment practices.

Engineer and optimize data center capabilities across power capacity, cooling performance, environmental controls, rack utilization, cabling integrity, and deployment readiness.

Lead preventive maintenance planning, capacity planning, failover validation, and standards-based implementation efforts across supported data center environments.

Drive operational improvements for power, cooling, space, and infrastructure efficiency using data from DCIM, monitoring, and asset management platforms.

Lead complex rack layout, hardware installation, cabling, remediation, relocation, and decommissioning efforts in accordance with engineering and safety standards.

Establish and improve documentation standards for rack elevations, cable maps, port assignments, power allocation, implementation records, maintenance procedures, and operational runbooks.

Partner with facilities teams to support environmental stability, maintenance coordination, HVAC issue resolution, and efficiency improvements across data center sites.

Collaborate closely with server, storage, network, security, and production support teams to ensure integrated planning and execution across the technology stack.

Provide technical leadership during incidents, infrastructure events, maintenance windows, and root-cause investigations related to data center services.

Coordinate vendor work, review scopes of work, validate implementation quality, and help ensure compliance with operational and safety requirements.

Evaluate new tools, technologies, and design approaches related to data center operations, monitoring, asset visibility, and environmental performance.

Provide data-driven recommendations on infrastructure health, operational risk, capacity constraints, and modernization opportunities.
