Your Job As a Quality Engineer at Molex, you will provide technical quality support throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring manufacturing processes consistently deliver reliable, compliant products. You will support quality strategy, customer requirements, new product introduction, and continuous improvement initiatives while partnering with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, and Customers. - Lead quality assurance activities supporting electronic manufacturing operations while ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and improve Control Plans, PFMEAs, inspection strategies, process controls, and quality documentation.
- Support new product introduction (NPI), engineering changes, qualification activities, and design transfer processes to ensure quality requirements are effectively implemented.
- Lead root cause investigations utilizing methodologies including 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, improving First Pass Yield, minimizing customer escapes, and increasing operational efficiency.
- Serve as a quality representative for customer concerns, corrective actions, and quality performance reviews related to assigned products and manufacturing processes.
- Partner with suppliers and Supply Chain teams to resolve supplier quality issues, drive corrective actions, and reduce supply chain risk.
- Support customer audits, source inspections, and regulatory assessments.
- Provide quality leadership and mentorship to manufacturing personnel, inspectors, and cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program Management to ensure quality objectives are integrated into business decisions.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related technical discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Quality Engineering within electronics or electromechanical manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of electronic manufacturing processes, including PCB assembly, soldering, testing, component inspection, and process controls.
- Experience with APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Actions, SPC, and Risk Management methodologies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional problem-solving activities and drive sustainable improvements.
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
- Experience supporting product lines, manufacturing programs, or complex product portfolios.
- Working knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and customer-specific requirements.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, power electronics, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with ERP, MES, and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Proven ability to influence teams and drive quality improvements.
