Symphony Manor is looking for a Part Time Cook/Dietary Aide to join our team.

Schedule: Every Other Weekend Saturday AND Sunday 11:30 am to 7:30 pm

Responsibilities:

Review menus and production sheets to determine food quantities needed for regular, mechanically altered and other special diet needs.
Prepare specified food items, as assigned.
Ensure that sanitation and safety standards are met in the preparation, cooking and production line stages of food production.
Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of specified equipment and the general kitchen work area.
Supervise food being cooked; ensures that food is held and served at correct temperature.
Assist with preparation of and distribution of meals
Knowledge of food preparation and production process necessary.
Pride in quality of food and service necessary.
High degree of personal cleanliness and good hygiene; health status suitable for service of food required.
Assists in the preparation and delivery of meals to residents according to department policy and position assignment.
Adheres to the resident’s diet order, texture/consistency modifications, and menu preferences during the preparation and service of food items and beverages.
Performs all responsibilities of the designated position assignment during the scheduled shift in accordance with all safety regulations and standards of practice.
May serve meals to residents in dining areas according to seating chart and instructions on resident tray tickets.
Assists in care and maintenance of kitchen environment and equipment.
Regularly contributes to, and actively participates in, facility and department staff meetings and inservices.
Utilizes electronic timekeeping system as directed.
Arrives to work on time, regularly, and works as scheduled.
Recognizes and follows the dress code of the facility including wearing name tag at all times.
Follows policy and procedure regarding all electronic devices, computers, tablets, etc.
Supports and abides by Symphony Manor’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
Abides by Symphony Manor’s businesses code of conduct, compliance and HIPAA policies.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor, management staff or Administrator.

This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.

The starting hourly rate for this position falls between $17.00 and $18.25 per hour. Exact hourly placement within this range is determined in good faith based on a candidate's relevant food service history, long-term care certifications, and overall experience.
